In 1935, Albert Einstein, Boris Podolsky, and Nathan Rosen published a paper highlighting a phenomenon that Einstein famously dismissed as "spooky action at a distance." Today, we know it as quantum entanglement.

At its core, entanglement describes a state where two particles become inextricably linked. Measure a property of one particle — like its spin or polarization — and you instantly know the corresponding property of its pair, regardless of whether they are separated by a few millimeters or a billion light-years.

What makes this so mind-bending to natural philosophy is what it implies about locality and observation:

- **The Interconnectedness:** Entangled states suggest that physical information isn't strictly confined to isolated local regions in space-time.
- **The Measurement Problem:** The universe seems to refrain from defining certain properties of a system until an observation actively forces a collapse into a definitive state.
